The West German PzF 44 gunner holds his nerve and his aim. The soft underbelly of the T-55 melts as the HEAT round punches through into the crew compartment.
The Bulldog commander orders the driver to halt and it changes its facing towards the Soviet armour. Better dice here for NATO.
Its a nice clean target with the second T-55 just coming off the bridge.
TC: Gunner HEAT T-55 on bridge straight ahead 300 metres.
Loader: UP!
Gunner: Identified!
TC: Fire
Gunner: On the way!
He manages to strike the bridge structure which erupts, showering the hull and turret side of the T-55 with steel framing. A stench of sweat and urine fills the interior.
With the tank crews ears still ringing the T-55 bails off the bridge and road almost tipping over and then falls in behind the infantry out of sight of the Bulldog.
Hearing the engagement to their flank the second Soviet infantry team advances towards the sound of battle.
The infantry grandfather spots the Bulldog turret first of all. "Aim low pheasant" he whispers to the RPG-7 gunner. At 200m its a 51% hit probability against a slow moving target.
The warhead explodes in the hedge line with the trigger of the projectile hiting a rock or branch.
Sneaking along the lower side of the road the second Soviet infantry team steals themselves for a close assault across into the West Germans. The T-55 goes first over the bank and then over the T.A infantry who have the ditch as cover. It does not stop.
The assault goes in with a rush and the German reservists are caught off guard. Can they hold the ground?
One more post to come with the outcome.
Model on!
